Lutheran Early Response Team
This ministry includes trained volunteers who respond to natural disasters in our community and beyond as well as serving our members in need of special assistance around their homes and more.
LCMS has a disaster response org that includes Lutheran Early Response Teams (LERTs). We have several folks who have received basic LERT training. A subset has also completed chainsaw training. Chainsaw training is required to be allowed to operate a chainsaw as part of that type disaster response. The training is also highly desired for anyone who will be near a chainsaw, such as when dragging the cuttings from the cutting site. The training sessions will be May 24 & 25 at the Summit House, 111 Maverick St. Aledo, TX. All persons are to attend the Friday 6-9PM session. A follow-on Saturday session operating a saw can be completed in one of 3 time slots, 8-11, 11-2, or 2-5.
The sign-up link is below. You may need to hold the control key as you click the button. Once on the page select the red box for the Friday session and your choice for Saturday, then click the Submit and Sign Up button at the bottom.
This will be a rip-roaring time…literally.
LERT Training occurs on Saturdays. Contact Dick Schellin to find out when the next training is scheduled.
